On November 12, the global medical aid program - "Fu Sheng" Wound Healing Program, extended its helping hand to patients living in the Central African Republic, which is included as part of its commitment to the "Belt and Road Initiative".
The initiative of Fu Sheng Program's going to the Central African Republic is part of the 2021 World Young Scientist Summit, and its primary objective is to help local patients of the Central African Republic to get survived from skin wound infection.
The "Fu Sheng Program", or literally means "rejuvenate the skin" program, is a China nationwide medical aid program initiated by Li Xiaokun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Wenzhou Medical University (WMU), and supported by Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou Charity Federation, Wenzhou Daily, Wenzhou Shuguang Hospital and other social institutions of Wenzhou city. The program aims to provide medical assistance services for vulnerable groups suffering from skin wound problems throughout China, and at the same time train, more talents who are skilled at wound healing medical techniques.
As committed to the "Belt and Road Initiative", the "Fu Sheng Program" is now planned to go outside of China and extend its helping hand to more patients living in the countries along with the "Belt and Road Initiative".

At the launching ceremony, the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU and China-Central African Republic Friendship Hospital signed a cooperation agreement on wound healing and repair treatment. The team of the "Fu Sheng Program" donated a growth factor medicine box developed by Academician Li Xiaokun's team to China-Central African Republic Friendship Hospital, as part of the service program.

According to the agreement, in accordance with the "Fu Sheng Program", the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU will share its medical knowledge and techniques via remote consultation platforms and the public communication of the Sino-Africa Chamber of Commerce in Wenzhou, so as to meet the needs of local patients and help establish the treatment and prevention system for refractory wounds and wound treatment.
As the program progressed, the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU will continue to help the local hospitals in the Central African Republic to build up specialized medical departments of wound healing and repair treatment by donating more medical equipment and providing online medical services as well as medical personnel training.

On the same day, the Center of Wound Repair and Regenerative Medicine, WMU, and the Department of Wound Repair of the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU was officially launched.
Academician Li Xiaokun was officially appointed as the Director of the Department of Wound Repair. Fu Xiaobing, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, who has made systematic and creative contributions to the war wound medicine, tissue repair, and regenerative medicine, and biotherapy in China, was invited to serve as the chief consultant of the "Center" and the honorary director of the "Department".

During his keynote speech, Li pointed out that, the "Fu Sheng Program", with its high commitment to the building of the China-Africa Health Community, is of great significance to the world, since the program hopes to supply more African fellow hospitals with more high-quality medical equipment and techniques, so as to improve its resilience against more disease and infections.
Li also delivered his hopes that the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU can fully devote itself to the research and practice of wound repair with higher standards, strong resolutions, and more determinations, so as to help more patients suffering from the skin wound to get rid of the pains, thereby co-constructing solid ties along with the "Belt and Road Initiative".

Chen Zhengfang, Director of the Division of Cooperation and Exchanges of Zhejiang Health Commission, sent his wishes during his keynote speech that, the "Fu Sheng Program" can be a notable case study of Sino-Africa medical cooperation in terms of the cooperation on pandemic prevention, remote consultation, project feasibility research, and material donations.
Christophe NDOUA, Director of the Office of International Assistance and Anti-Malaria of the Ministry of Health of the Central African Republic, and Jean Chrisostome KETTE, President of China-Central African Republic Friendship Hospital, also sent visual messages and expressed their sincere gratitude towards the Health Commission of Zhejiang Province, Wenzhou Medical University and the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU for their medical assistance, tutorial assistance and material donations, and looked forward to further deepening the bilateral friendship and carrying out deeper exchanges and cooperation on both sides in the future.
Xia Jinglin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU, said that the hospital is an important component of the "Fu Sheng Program", and surely believed that the program will become a new milestone of the WMU and the First Affiliated Hospital of WMU in terms of global medical cooperation, which will further contribute to the built-up of a strong medical team of wound treatment and repair and also improve the overall system of the wound treatment system and academic development.
